Homework: Read 20 Minutes on a Daily Basis
Daily reading is VERY important. Athletes practice for hours and so should readers -- well, at least for 20 minutes evey day if your are in fourth grade! In 4 TERRIFIC T it is required that every student read a book, magazine or newspaper for 20 minutes daily outside of school. You can read in the evening or morning. You can read at home, on a bus, or in a car. You can even read at Grandma's house or Aunt Susie's -- just be sure that you find something to read, learn from, and enjoy. Each child should write the title and author of the book, magazine or newspaper in their agenda book on the daily calendar page. Each morning, Mrs. Ledvina will check the student's agenda book to be sure that it is written in. For every completed day of reading, the child will receive an "R" if they read in Mrs. Ledvina's gradebook. These marks apply towards the language arts grade and for prizes such as Pizza Hut Book-It certificates and McDonald's certificates.
